Yes, they definitely have a Porsche boxer-motor quality to them. With the right exhaust, the sounds down right wicked! I'm sure you'll be happy with it. It's not the narrow angle VR6 sound...but something equally nice (IMO).

I am talking with a CF hood importer to get a few RS scoopless CF hoods in...I think that would look pretty sweet with a FMIC. Also, want one for our 05 project RS--my stock hood feels reallllly heavy.

Ex-Vw Guy here too (going on 6 years on the 'tex, VWs for more than 10 years). I still miss the sound of my VR (road in Tomas sport tunings shop car about a month ago..stock VR, but boooy the torque and the rumble), but just got sick of being beat on by this one particular EVO (silver one near El Cerrito, CA..) You know who you are ; ) , so I sold ALL my VW/Audi cars (along with a 300hp TT). Anyways, I now have a modded wagon for the dog (pushing close to 280 whp), and an STI on the way. The only thing I really can complain about is the rather "cheap" interior, but this can be easily remedied...

Dude I think I hella remember your rides in the MKII forums on the tex. I loved your rides. I would love to own an other MKII GTI or Jetta. Would never buy a MKIV again tho. God that was a nightmare.

STI man for sure. Com'mon in the waters warm... he he he he j/k subies rule. I've had 2 now. I had an 2.5RS years ago then had 3 VW's and came back to a 2.5RS if thats any credibility. I like how they like you know... run. And like.... start. Much better than any VW I've owned. good luck on your choice.

cheers
