You can say Subaru > Mitsubishi in the reliability department, in fact, I'll never own a Mitsu because of their questionable build quality. But it also doesn't mean that you can't drive a Mitsu for 100K miles with no problems either. You can't guaranty that car A will break before car B.

No way can the 06 be slower than an 02, the writers and testers must have been shooting up or something when they wrote this. I don't know how they came to this conclusion but that's ridiculous.
as for my second rant I just did not like the Suby bashing on our forums there was no good reason for what I typed other than my loyalty for my Subaru’s which I explained in my first rant
I think like all cars there is a place for it Mazda would not have made the car if there was not a market, do I think this market is the same as ours....no as it stands the WRX is still on its own the you cant group it with the EVO due to the horse power and price difference there is the Mazdaspeed 6 but that is to large of a car then there is the BMW 330Xi same size but double the price do you get where I am going
As for the MS3 it has a car in its price range that it can be directly rated against and it’s not a Subaru it’s a Dodge caliber SRT-4 the price and size drive train and even the shape are roughly the same
I just think the mag's should do what there suppose to do and that is honestly compare cars in the same class and give you an unbiast opinion to help the consumer buy the car that is right for them, because you know no one can trust a dealership

I don't think most people buying a car are going to base their decision just off of a magazine. I'm sure people would still look into the WRX and realize that there are other trim models and what not. Plus I'd hope most people would realize that you're basically getting some opinion and some fact when you read any article like that. Hell, if they're dumb enough to spend 25k based on a magazine article, then they should go buy that Mazda.

Mazda makes great sports cars and I'm sure the Mazdaspeed has traits that outshine the WRX. So why not show the similarities and differences between the two. If not only for an entertaining article, then at least to possibly help future car buyers whom are destined to choose between the two cars.
Not only that, but in the WRX's deffence (like it needs one), they also mentioned that the WRX could have performed better given sportier tires. Alos, that they perfered the WRX as an autoX car over the Mazda.

Not sure if this was an honest statement or if you're just trying to make people laugh. Do these cars ring any bells for you?
Miata/MX5
Mazdaspeed 3
Mazdaspeed Protoge'
Mazdaspeed 6
RX-8
Cosmo
Not every car requires lots of power and rear wheel drive to be a "sports" car. In fact, some of those on that list are more of a pure sports car than any Impreza.
Edit: Your last car was a pony, I can see now why you have a twisted view of what a sports car is/should be. When Ford tunes any of their cars at Laguna Seca please let me know. I'm sure they have full access being that they are owner/partners with Mazda.

However, I don't see any MazdaSpeed car as a sports car. Maybe "sporting" cars, but surely not sports cars. The last generation RX7 was a sports car.
I agree. Only the Miata is a true "sports car." Sticking the word "speed" on the Mazda does not make it a sports car, a car purpose-built for high-level driving and nothing else. A Porsche Carrera is a sports car. A Mazda 3 is not.

Anyway, what type of data would be used to single out the AWD system of each car and not have it biased by other aspects of the car?
