Last saturday before I went to the autoshow I saw CAROL SHELBY! He was staying at the same hotel as me. Watched a special on the Cobra on RIDES (TLC). That car sounds flircking awsome on TV. Cant imagine how sweet it would sound in real life. Nothing like the Viper V-10. Here are some of my pics from the show. This is the motor. Notice the Slicks.

Here is the rear end. Check out the liscense plate. Sorry for the people, there was about 100 people around it, and the new stang was about 5 feet away, so it was packed.

Why does the engine look like it is carbureted? What are the ten openings at the top if not air intakes for carbs?

They all go into the intake manifold. It is fuel injected.

To give it the look of an old engine.

Same concept as the Dodge HEMI name. Makes people think of old powerful engines. Marketing.

And only 605hp from a V10? Why didn't they put a supercharger or turbo on there. Easy 700 or 800hp.

Viper only makes 500 with its V10 and the Ford GT makes 500 with its Super 8. When the Cobra comes out, it will be Americas bad boy.

I was kinda joking 605hp is plenty for me

I find it interesting that the V10 in the Carrera GT also makes 605hp. Might ford be using a porsche engine?

Very interesting indeed, at least it would be a step in the right direction.

Its not a Porsche. Watched the making of it on TLC. A one off motor. It was a pretty cool show.

I watched that show last night. It was pretty cool, other than the fact that they were building a Mustang. Turned out nice though. They had this other old car on the show with a twin turbo 350 small block that was insane. They said it was putting down 1200 hp and 1000 tq. They also said it would 70-135 in 1.5 secs, not sure about that one, I guess it is possible.

look out lotus

3075 pounds and 600 horsepower and awesome weight distribution?? this just might be the best supercar yet. one thing for sure. . the lotus elise had better watch out. . . with each horse only pushing 5.0826 pounds the new shelby will be chased by many. just hope that the aerodynamics are sufficient!!
