First Close Call Today..:[

First thing I noticed this morning was the full-moon hanging low in the sky. I'm not superstitious, it just raises concern because of all the superstition surrounding it. Anyway, I'm cruising into work and some sleepy-eyed goof in his big P/U decides hes gonna' change lanes into my front fender real quick.
I swerved much harder than I should have and.....
HOLY CRAP! These cars grip like a ****! It was 32 deg. outside and my summer tires are more like hardened epoxy. And still, no slip at all. It was just like the commmercials for the wagons. WOW.
I am lovin' this car.

* I saw about 3 or 4 other complete idiot moves in traffic on my 29 mile commute, maybe the rumors about the full moon are true... :]*

My 02 WRX has literally saved my life at least six times in the 4 years I've had it.

Ask yourself a question: how many production cars out there could recover from going sideways at 65 MPH? No SUV could; no FWD American sedan could, or RWD luxury sedan. I can think of a very small handful of cars that have the grip and rigidity to let you recover from that, and every single Subaru made in the last 10 years goes on that list (including my wife's Legacy GT wagon, which has shockingly superb handling.)

Amen brother, Amen.

The FWD was fun, and could really do a good job pulling me out of a corner, but this STI is just a friggin' grip-animal. Its amazing. When does this honeymoon end anyway, do you ever get used to these amazing vehicles? I doubt it. Who needs Viagra when automotive sexiness like this exists? And why the Fu** didn't Daimler make the SRT-4 AWD? They are idiots, I got rooked for 5 years..:[

Thumbs down 12/06/06

Well today, coming home from school this morning turned out to have a negative outcome. I in my 02WRX along w/a Jeep Cherokee was waiting for the light to tun green from a RED of course when some speeding moron rear ends me which then sent my car and I rolling to the other side of the intersection. As I was pushed to the right side of the street I saw him pass by and a cement truck behind him yelling at him as if he had cut him off earlier or so it seemed. Well this was the first time I had suffered an accident on my car that I bought in 2001. Up until now I feel my neck sore and might require some medical assistance thanks to that individual. I took all the proper procedures and received his info such as insurance, plates, etc.. I called my insurance right after I arrived home so hopefully that will be worked out soon. The worst part was he tried to bribe me by asking me if he could pay for a paint job since the damage was only "minimal" according to him. He asked if I could wait for Friday and have his buddy paint it since he told me that he would not want his insurance to go up. He didn`t realize that not only did the paint chip off from some parts of my rear bumper, but the bottom plate frame was dented in and both sides were sticking out about half an inch from the rear paneling which means I will need a new bumper not to mention hope that the paneling underneath isn`t damaged. It seems that no matter how safe of a driver one thinks they are, morons could come out of nowhere.
Take care all.

Damn that full moon.

Damn, neighbor. Sorry to hear that you got mashed by an idiot. I woul definately do it through your insurance. They will (normally) repair or replace every damaged componant. Plus, the guy that hit you deserves to learn a lesson, and what better way than to hit him in his pocket book?
(Unless its Brooks Motor Cars in San Leandro, don't let this guy's buddy paint your car to fix it...)
