I hope the build qty is better on the C6 Z06. I checked out the Z06 when it first came out and was pretty disappointed with the plastic parts bin pieces. I like the new look of the C6, and if the mags are right, the C6 Z06 should be one hell of a car!

Except off road, and in any bad weather condition. Face it we got that market cornered. Can't compare apples to oranges. WRX is still the worlds most sensible street car that doubles as a race car, being able to drive when it's snowy out and actually do well and have fun, while being fast. Or in the rain, or put knobby's on and take a dirt track on, Our car does everything well. With some decent tuning it will make other cars that are close to 100k look silly.

FWIW, a longblock LS1/LS6 weighs about 450 lbs (also all-aluminum). I would expect the LS2 and LS7 are in the same ballpark.

There are many "more sophisticated" motors out there that not only have far less displacement and make far less power, but weigh MORE (not to mention, have worse external dimensions) compared to the LS1/LS6/LS2/LS7.

I already beat you to that argument. Read back a few posts. No one will listen to me though.
