On Civics...
I think it's a good thing for the automotive and aftermarket parts business communities that Civics are getting modded, whether they are true speed mods or flashy junk. As long as kids want to buy stuff for their cars, those kids will be learning more about the cars and will hopefully step up to more sophisticated car repair later on and gain more knowledge about cars in general. Friendships can be formed and local businesses can thrive off of this "new" car industry.
But I'm not going to be driving one......

Car Info: want a WRX
Thats an interesting view. I agree. When i was like 11 i used to be a ricer. Yes, i admit it. I wanted a civic with "those hot clear lights", a muffler, body kit, rims, and neons, and nitro(now i know, its nitrous oxide, then i didnt). Now, i want a wrx witha full turboback, reflash, sti shortblock, vf series turbo, tein coilovers w/ the edfc of course, and plenty of other stuff....
Hell i'm a stupid ricer, but not for my real car, just my car in NFSU that looks so blinged out its fun to the n-th power.
Rice in your head: ok, rice on your car: no no no!

I agree...they have about the worst driving experiance of any car out there. I recently drove one and I do not see how anyone could appreciate them. Yeah they have good reliablity, but the driving experiance SUCKS! Especally on the road course... ICK!

I think I have rice in my heart.. I really want a carbon fiber trunk for some reason. I'm afraid of looking too riced tho.. so its like I want the cf trunk, but I want it painted to match my car on the outside. Then I have my secret rice hidden on the underside of my trunk.. so weird huh? Have I lost my mind? Is it closet rice?

The "rice" test-
Is it tacky, tasteless, or just lame? If so... Rice.
Is it in any way improving your car's performance? If not, does it actually look good? If not... Rice.
Is it chrome? If so... Rice.
Does it look like carbon fiber, but it weighs more than the part it replaced? If so... Rice.
Did you buy it at Pep Boys/Kragen/Autozone/etc.? If so... Rice. Or Mullet.
Did you do it to your car to be "unique", but there are 200,000 other cars that look just like it still? If so... Rice.
Obviously this isn't the absolute definitive explanation of what is rice.. but it goes a long way. Personally, I say if it's chrome, carbon fiber, cartoonishly proportioned, or universal (meaning it isn't specifically for your make and model) it's rice. Shame on you.

Honda's are not rice, firstly. The stupid kids that rice them out are the ones responsible.
Secondly, as for the Z3 fenders and likewise air duct hoods, on high performance cars they can actually benefit. The small airducts let out heat, believe it or not. They do server a purpose. Even if it's just a little bit, it's better than nothing. Also, most are made from fiberglass. That is called "weight reduction." I know, a foriegn concept but please, try to stay with me. That brings me to another point. Although you may consider CF parts such as hoods and trunks rice, they are much lighter than stock parts.
Every pound counts if you want to make a Honda go really fast. Look at the basics: it's a 1.6/1.8 liter motor. They have no torque unless they are heavily modified. They need every advantage they can get to keep up with other cars such as WRXs. I have seen Civic Hatchbacks with motorswaps spank WRX's.
Another thing, most people start with Honda's because they are cheap. Not everyone can afford to buy a brand new car. And not everyone has mommy and daddy buy them everything. So before you go and flame people on what they're driving, think before you speak.
On a lighter note: Yes, lambo doors are rice and if I ever saw a some kid get outta his Honda and lift the doors up, I'd ***** slap em'. :-D
