Best Car ever produced
MG TC: peppy, affordable road worthy, can't bust 'em and it looks like a sports car should!
Or, as an off beat: late 50's Simca! 1100 cc inline four, four speed stick on the column! and nice interior. For many years it held a world record for most miles in a 24- hour period, on a closed oval somewhere in France. Bought by Chrysler and then shut down. Mine ran many a mile. Quirk: the aluminum head was prone to warp.

the best ever... i say its the WRX, low budget yet very high performance, AWD stock turbo and sports sedan. WRX all the way baby. did i mention.. the beauty of AWD>
Best Cars...
Supercar: McClaren F1 when it first came out
Sedan: Early to Mid-90's M3...top of the pack for their time, new ones aren't the same (not that I'd refuse one if offered!)...but now the WRX of course!
Grocery-Getter: Could be the Hyundai Accident...but I'd have to go for either the Plymouth Horizon or Dodge Omni (same car)...could buy 3 or 4 for the price of a 'normal car' and your driveway becomes an instant parts store...narrow enough to make any 2 lane highway a 3 lane highway...ran on oil as well as gas...plus they were so light you could lift them one corner at a time onto cinder blocks when the time came to put them out to pasture...(i.e. when they had donated enough of themselves to their poor sick siblings who were nicer 'colors' - a door, kidney, fender, tranny, cracked vinyl passenger seat...the list goes on and on...)

the bang bus rules the road,
and also the porshe gt 3
and maybe the viper
but if i had one to drive all the time on the interstate it would be any formula one like shumacher drives

Porsche 959
The porsche 959 has to be somewhere on this list! When it was built in 1989, it had about 400hp and all wheel drive, and did 0-60 in under 4 seconds. The 996 turbo of today has the same power and the all wheel drive, but that was 10 years later!! The guys at porsche take this one IMHO.

I'm glad someone finally listed the rs6 avant. IMO, thats the best car in the world. Faster than 99% of everything you see on the road. Better handling than 99% of everything you see on the road. More luxurious than 99 % of everything you see on the road, ' ' sounding' ', ' 'looking' ', ' 'spacious (you can fit EVERYTHING in those things...)' ', ' 'build quality' '. Those are just awesome vehicles.
Ford rs200,worlds quickest production car still and it was built in 1986. And it has a 4cyl. turbo all wheel drive
. In full trim they claim 0-60 in 2sec. I doubt that quick but I know it is faster than a Porsche turbo.
