Best Car ever produced

Wow, that's an almost impossible question for me to answer. Better in what way? Fastest? Most versatile? Most usable? Most reliable? I suppose the answer would lie somewhere in a combination of all of the above. What car encompases all of that, I don't know, because I've never cared about anything except for speed. It's an interesting question though. For me, my "best car" would be a replica of a Shelby 427 Cobra. I say replica so I could have all the modern tehnology in it since I'm spoiled by them now

Tuckers, they revolutionized how cars were made. Even though we all know they only built 50, 48 are still road worthy and that was about 50 years ago. Pretty impressive in my mind.

I dunno, the Tucker is cool and all, but it's just waaaaay ugly. So innovative, but could have been put in a better package, imho.
I would have to say the 240z or RX-7 for bringing well balanced, cheap, race worthy production vehicles to the United States. Granted there were many great British built sports cars of the era, but how many could you buy for around $3k?
As far as what I'd love to own, I'd have to say a Toyota 2000GT of course. The only collectable Japanese car (in the US at least). Plus gotta love that German styling (although you could get the same styling, by the same designer, in the 240Z for much less money).

This is way too hard a question. Volkswagen Beetle was very important for many reasons. Jaguar E-type is one of the best looking cars of all time, as well as being a great race car. And of course Porsche, for design, engineering and technology. But, how can you choose? I would have to say Beetle or 911. But then the Honda Civic was pretty revolutionary at the time too, right?

Ford GT40 -- the original. gorgeous, and it was able to compete with the italians. then again, they were hand built, not really manufactured.
nick van exel: agreed, the car was so revolutionary for the time , if u put newer looking wheels on it people would think its a 2003 model. Maybe, i dont know.....but its awesome!
