The Baja Should have been like this-
the concepts are always better, in this case Subaru might have had more sales if they stuck to this - The ST-X

Personally I thought the baja would sell better w/o all the ugly looking plastic side panels, I mean seriously is Subaru that stingy on their paint, I know it costs more money but why not turn out a better product that will sell better if they spend a couple extra G's to make a better product. Also interior quality, there shoudl at least be a real "PREMIUM" option that would make the car more appealing to people. Go ahead flame me but that's my opinion.
For building high power, hardcore boost applications I agree with you, however I believe that supercharger setups can be made to produce safe, low boost for our high compression EJ25's and produce power in a much more linear fashion. Much like our well loved N/A throttle response already is. I dunno, I like them both for different reasons.

the baja has plastic side parts because it's a truck and trucks get their paint stripped off faster than cars. i think they did a good job with the baja though that VW-style ragtop looks sweet

I like the plastic sides, if an off road vehicle is actually used for what it was intended for, plastic sides would be a lot better off than paint.
