anyone heard od getsponsored.net

I filled out their online form a couple months ago for sport compact pro sponsorship and i got a call today. Talking to a guy, he asles me some questions and then tells me i will be sponsored if i sign the contract. I just have to put 2 of their stickers on my car and go to at least 4 shows or races a year. He said i have a $12,000 that will be set up and they will pay 55% for anything i want to buy for my car, and it will be deducted from the 12,000. I just have to pay the $80 for half of the legal document contract to be written up.Has anyone heard of this. Check it out on getsponsored.net. I dont know if it is real or a scam. I think i saw it advertised in modified magazine.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

chances are that you're not going to get a legitimate sponsorship from a website that sole purpose is to get you sponsored.. Like the saying goes "you need money to make money".. well you need a car that's sponsorship worthy in order to get a real sponsor.. meaning you've already dumped an insame amount of money into it.

A real sponsorship will come about when a XYZ company finds it more cost effective to give you money/parts/etc etc for your show/race car than it would to spend the same amount of money else where to bring them more revenue.. it's a business like any other and the "sponsored" vehicle is just an advertising tool. Chances are that $12,000 spent on a magazine ad or two in something like Sport Compact will bring alot more traffic/business to XYZ company than Joe Blow's mostly stock civic will by attending 4 crappy local car shows with two tiny *** stickers on the back windows will.

Use discretion.. if it sounds too good to be true, it's not.. and if you're really not sure, call Miss Cleo.

Don't do it my buddy did it with his turboed GSR integra and it was a complete waste of money he never order anything and never had time to make it to any shows. In the contract it says that if you do not make the 4 shows, you will be charged the % that they covered. So if you order $6000 worth of stuff and they covered 50% and you don't make those shows you can kiss another $3000 gone. And I bet they have a not so nice mark up on thier items. If you already paid the money for the contract get it read it then make your choice. I think it is $74 of the $80 is refunable because that money goes to "Racers against Street Racing" <(correct me if I'm wrong on that name).

Ok, my question is why they still send you a free dvd of just street racing, once you get accepted with them... Thats not promoting anything against street racing and people who have lost their lives in street racing... just my 2 cents... Its a totally scam... You need to have won several car show events and have proof in order to get a good sponsor... your best bet is to put your car in a show, out of your own money and hopefully you get sponsored by someone in the show...for future car shows...

All of the carsponsorship websites suck. They give you cool stuff like huge ugly flame vinyls and neons for your car and you have to go to shows and promote the companies name and blah blah. its a rip off.
