will you have to upgrade the master cylinder/brake booster if you do that?

Yeah I just piked up a 95 SE last week, 150K miles and compression tested like damn near new, these motors go forever! And yeah, unless all you want is a pad upgrade, you will want to find a 5 lug swap, they stock brakes are SERIOUSLY tiny, Im talking 1988 honda civic small % lugs will also find you a few more wheel options, and lookie what I found out the other day, EVO rear rotors and STI calipers bolt right up!

EVO front rotors fit on too, Im just making a set of brakets for the calipers, EVO part outs usually sell the brakes front/rear for around $600 since nobody knows what to do with them, sweet!

yeah it's recommended to upgrade the mc to a 15/16" size. especially from a 1 piston caliper to a 4 piston caliper.

that'd be the kind of definitive answer that my clouded brain was failing to provide. unfortunately, it doesn't help OP find a more advantageous final drive ratio, but oh well.

My bro in Okinawa has an S-13. He drifts with his Marine Corps buddies out there. Theyre called Round-Eye Racers. He tells me 5 lugs basically give better, more rear-biased braking that helps get that rear-end to kick out (s-13 is an understeer monkey!). Also allows for wider wheels and grippier tire choices. Nissan is where its at in Japan. Dorifto sugoy!!! Id kill for a Koki!!!

Me and a few of my friends do sr swaps into 240s. Those damn cars are like legos everything from a s-14 bolts onto a s-13 very easily. They are very reliable cars, but watch out for some rust on the older ones all the 89-91s we have swapped all had some kind of rocker and wheel wells. The only thing that ever went wrong on one KA or SR was because of the owner driving it with a broken 02 housing(aka uppipe) and over heated so bad the blow off valve blew off the hotpipe. lol

PS i hate them because there is about 7 or 8 in my circle of friends hence i have a 2000 RS
AWD in the snowbelt for the win.

From: Are you too one of the few still living the past? Well I can change that! With a simple wicket. Yes, my friend, a wicket. PM for details.
Car Info: No car right now....sob.
My buddy has an S13 with SR20DET swap and disco potato with 300ZX brakes. Quick cars. I have another friend that's running 9s in his S13....Thing put my 03 Rex to its knees, but I'll walk circles around him in the STi (versus setup one)....and I can move in the snow.

5280 Feet FTW.
