Question Achilles' heel

I wonder if our suby have a weak part many of you know that every car have a weak point in which people make reference. For example when I buy my Ford Ranger Splash 1995 many said about Ford bad transmission issues.
Any problem known with Subaru WRX?

^^^Basically what he said. Not a bad tranny, but it will be one of the first few things that may break under heavy launching (like if you dump the clutch). Otherwise, I feel that the WRX is rock solid.

It's better to burn your clutch than to break your tranny. Clutches cost WAY less to replace.

oh, and I should add. Many Subaru owners I know say that it may be difficult to get into reverse and sometimes, 1st gear, especially on cold mornings.

I've had my car for 3 days and have already noticed this. I find if you shift into 3rd, and it may be any other gear for all I know but 3rd works for me it should go into 1st or reverse fine. And when trying to go into reverse don't push really hard to the right just push it over gently and pull down. I find I can only put into rev when I'm gentle.

tranny, and let's not forget about weak rear wheel bearings!

there's a TSB to replace them with the legacy rear bearing parts if im not mistaken...

hAaaaaaahahAhAhAhA, i didn't notice that.

another weak point is that a lot of girls have no clue what a wrx is, so you score no points, they do however know vtec. weak!

shifting into reverse is a pain, i need a short shifter with bushings.

its so hard to shift into reverse because there is no syncro on reverse... another way to make a tranny cheaper... if it doesnt go in the first time just let out the clutch, push it back in and it should go into reverse fine. sometimes i may have to do this twice

I think the transmission is only the weak point if you beat the car.

My roomate has an '02 WRX, VF22, injectors, fuel pump, uppipe and TBE good for 230whp on an AWD Mustang Dyno (that was reading low at the time). He ran a 13.4 @ 100+ with his clutch slipping all the way through 3rd gear

25k+ miles, not a single transmission issue yet and he's run the car at the strip multiple times. He just knows how not to beat his car up.
