2003 Dodge Neon SRT-4
Can you believe that Sport Compact Car picked the SRT-4 for car of the year?! How can they pick that car when it isn't even available yet? Yes it has straightline speed, but the Neon's suspension was never set up for handling, you can't even adjust the camber. I don't know, I just can't see it as a true performance car, all I can see it as is an econo car.

hello all, newbie, closet WRX freak, I am a domestic guy and i still dont like dodge, but i have to admit that the SRT-4 has me curious and thats all dodge needed to do, before the WRX i never thought twice about a subaru but they got me interested enough to test drive one (which i loved). I think that it might be better engineered then you think. Only time will tell

Did you look at the HP/Torque specs on all of the cars that they reviewed?
For being under $20K it has alot of bang for the buck.
If you *NEED* camber adjust, a set of Koni's will be happy to provide that.

Has anyone/magazine confirmed that the specs listed in SCC will be the production specs?
preproduction measured @ wheel 223hp, 250 lb*ft
mfr engine rating 215hp, 245 lb*ft (i wish i can get 245lb-ft @ 2k)
I'll hold my comments until i see the production models.

the srt-4 will destroy all, it also flys over buildings, does my taxes and takes out the trash. i think i am going to start numerous threads on it, even on non-car related boards and start up random conversations with complete strangers on the street that proclaim the next coming of jesus, in srt-4 form.
scc had to make this car of the year, what the hell else would they make it? the matrix or the si? im not impressed by the srt-4, mostly in part to the fwd.
like ive said in previous threads, the srt-4 market is aimed at a TOTALLY different market than the wrx. the srt-4 is aimed at the street racing fast/furious racers who already drive s/c si's, neons, or any of those other cars in that genre. its not a sports car, and i cant see it as a true performance car. its going to cater to the under 25 market(my market), who are going to end up crashing it and buying another one(not me ).

well IgotWRXed i agree that it will apeal to under 25 croud, considering i fit that profile and it appeals to me, but i do not own a sport compact car and never have, i drive a 350 V8 Z28 camaro and a old taurus SHO. Do i think it is better than a WRX, no ( but it cheeper) If i had a choice i would pick a WRX but both cars apeal to different people. I will test drive one before i decide to buy a WRX
oh an by the way i am visiting san francisco at the moment, right by filmore street and bush, visiting parents, and i have never seen so many WRX's in one day. I saw 11 in one day, i maybe see 1 a month in ohio haha
