Impreza TS or Brighton owners?

Anyone in Vancouver on this board a TS or Brighton owners?

Seen a few TS owners, but not many people with Brightons.

Just interested I'm looking at 4-door cars, and finding 4-door 2.5RS's are very hard. (pre MY02)

They did make L's up until the newer line up was introduced (think 98/99+)

The L was different than the Brighton's, right?

And what were the TS's and Brighton's equipped with? I heard Brightons were bare bone cars. Not even AC :P

The TS had the 2.2L engine, different springs/struts, black face gauges, no sunroof, different exhaust, 15" rims and drum brakes in the back.

The Brighton wagon is basically a stripped version of the TS. Same 2.2L engine but no tach, no power windows or locks, steel wheels and ac was an option.

I'm looking at the brochure from 1999.
All came with the oh so popular Canadian bumper

You could probably install your own tach, right? (Although that'd be kinda weird). Just wondering if the wiring is available for it so that it's an "easy" install.

And was the MY 98 Brighton the same until the model died in MY02?

edit: Actually, is the Brighton the equivalent of an L? Or is it more closer to the TS? Can't seem to find a pricing for the Brighton (bluebook value today).

Think of it this way.. the 2002+ TS = 93-01 L or Brighton wagons, with some more standard options than before to get with the times a bit (ie. power windows).

If Microsoft's Carpoint or Edmunds.com is still up, I suggest you go there to find and compare the data you need.

Can't find the info
The Brighton never existed in the USA, but the L did.
I don't think the US ever had a Subaru that didn't have a tachometer. That's just for us Canadians :P

My main question would be what the difference is between the Brighton and the TS in terms of standard equipment?
As far as I know, the Brighton has no tach, no power windows, no power locks... tape player?

Im pretty sure it comes with a tape player.

Dude, just choose the body style u want and go for it. Between the TS and the Brighton wagon, its not like you can get power everything with the wagon or manual everything (for weight saving?) with the sedan.

(And if you want power everything and 2.5L, the RS is your only choice.)

Its pretty much dependant on what body style u want.

Best to do is to visit some car used car dealerse and test drive the TS and wagon and see what u like in both.

I'm actually interested in what each comes with to gauge a price.
The way I see it, the TS is worth more than the Brighton because it comes with more "stuff". I can only get bluebook prices for the TS, and thus am using the TS as an "index".

Just checking around I figure an H-stock Brighton or TS would be pretty cool.
