Coming to Alameda Point the weekend of October 21. I went last time they came around and it was pretty fun, although there aren't nearly as many courses or cars as the GM Auto Show in Motion. I seem to remember that you could beat on the cars a little harder though, and it was fun driving the Miata (sorry, the MX-5)when it first came out. Hope some Subies can make it.

I was wondering if Mazda was going to do another one of these things. I had fun last year beating up the MX-5. Going to do the same thing this year.

 

We're going on that Sunday. Having the wifey enjoy the driving since she's the one with the new Mazda.

Sign up for as early as possible. If you get there really early, you can do a lot of the events, but anything after 12 noon it's just like iBlueVirus said, a waste of time.

 

maybe I should have been there really early. I was there like 9 or something...

 

I thought the outback challenge was much more fun and pratically NO lines.

Yeah, that was a Car and Driver/Road and Track "Ride and Drive" event. Those are cool. I went to the Legacy and Lexus events. They were much more fun.

Anyone know of any happening soon?

 

Hehe...10/21 at 8:15am, baby. I hate going to these things and having to wait in long lines. I think the first year they had it the afternoon slots were backed up by at least an hour.

seriously, you have to get there right when it starts unless you want to stand in lines all day.

i got there around 10am last year and stood in line for an hour to drive the miata and around 35 minutes for the rx-8

 

Does anyone know of any other similar upcoming events?

 

Lexus has one coming up. Forgot the date though.
