Yeah I went, it was weaaaaaaaaak. Ok, the miata was fun, the rx-8 was fun, but the people working there were douchebags, and had bad experience with this fat *******.

They kept telling everyone to slow down, I guess thats acceptable, but I dunno, what do you expect.

So my friend was waiting inline for the Mazdaspeed 6, which took over an hour, and he sat with my other friend and was going to switch. But my friend didn't know you had to go to a specific spot if you wanna switch drivers, and he parked at the regular spot, so my friend who waited 1+ hour couldn't drive the 6 because people were *****ing in line, even though he ****ing waited, like wtf? how lame can they get...

Another thing...my friend couldn't drive a stick and he jumped the line to ride with me, and we were close to driving when the attendant was like "anyone want to drive auto?" and no one answered, my friend who jumped the line was going to do it, but we were like nah, it's not fair to the others. So we wait, and we saw the 2 auto 6's just sitting there, and we were like wtf? no one is driving it? uh..ok, so we ask the attendant if we can drive it, and she's like yeah go for it, we hop in the car and then some punkass worker comes running because some fat *** snitched on my friend telling the worker to stop us and was like "get out, what are you doing?" (this guy asked if my friend if he was going to drive after he jumped the line) and we were like uh she told us we can go , no one is driving the auto, and he's like "no, you can't drive, get out", and we were like wtf? no one is using the car....so we had to line up again. and i was like dude..no one is freaking driving the car, let us go? why don't you ask the people back there if they wanan drive the cars? and he's like "no we don't do it like that". Umm, ok stupid douchebag, whatever, it's a free event, mazda sucks, hate them forever.

Yeah, i'm the friend that didn't get the drive the MS6 -_-. It was a decent event and the miata and rx8 were very very fun to drive. We were told to slow down in the mazda 3 but that's understandable.

So the above situation's were also understandable but the event could've been organized sooo much better. Having to park in a specific part to change out drivers and getting kicked out when you don't seemed rather ridiculous to me. THis was also compunded by the damn 1.5 hr line.

As for our friend not getting to drive the automatic... they should'vej ust made another line for those wanting the automatic. I mean, 2 cars sat there with there engines on for over half an hour. Ridiculous.

Overall fun cars, horrible organization.

i had a feeling it would be different this year. I didnt even make it, i was too tired today and at 5 PM i was like, oh yeah i forgot to go to this.

Last year i complaned about a burnt out clutch in an MX5 and got to switch. and they got mad at me for driving fast as well. They had a "demo" from their "autoX champion" so he went out and did a 39.555 lap. An hour later i do a 41.XXX lap and theyre like WTH are you thinking. they were on the edge of sending me off, meanwhile some kid spins a 180, they were distracted and i threw a smoke bomb and vanished haha.

the lines are either really short or really long, last year at least. I got to drive an RX8 4 times within 1 hour

Theyre all from michigan and think they know everything. i dont know what else to say.

wish i got to try the mazdaspeed6

I got there at 845. Drove the speed6 right away about 30 min wait. did a 49.5 vs a target time of 44. The speed6 is nose heavy, but felt even enough going through the turns. Power was smooth. The shifter is a little vauge? They said make sure your car is in first not third! I said HA! who could be dumb enough to do that... well I did. The clutch was not as bad as people on the mazda boards had made it out to be. I wish the awd would start at 50/50 instead of 100/0 then transfer power.

Then we went and did the cx7 target hunt(30 min wait). The point is to try and get your front left wheel within 12 inches of the yellow cones around the course. This was entertaining, throw your buddies in the car, and everyone gets a chance.

We then had a choice of the speedmatch challenge (mazda3/6 basemodels)or doing the sports course( rx8/miata) It was an easy choice to the sports course. Stood in line for the rx8 (1hr). The RX8 is a great car! it was very easy to drive. Good power, fun running out 9krpm. The shifter was very nice, crisp and short throws. Throwing it into corners is very easy, very forgiving, most likely due to the 50/50 weight balance. Next up was the miata!(1hr) The miata is a fun little car, very easy to do a burn out in, felt alot looser on the track compared to the rx8, it was slower around the track too.

One the speed 6 course and the sports course, they desgined it so that you run out first gear, then go into second, and then you can stay in second the entire time. I know some people will say oh thats lame. But I think that it is very smart. This was the first time the majority of the people had driven the cars. You get a better feel for the car if you are not worried about shifting. There is only 1 spot where you could heel-toe down to 1st, and power out, but 2nd has enough power to get the back end out on the turn.

Overall I had a great time, got to drive some fun cars in ways I could not in a normal test drive. I wish the lines were shorter, but you can not get everything. I wish other car companies would have events like this were you get to drive their cars agressively around a track.

it is late, and I cant sleep, so if this is confusing I apologise.

I went on Saturday morning at around 8:30 (would have been earlier, but got lost...damn directions). Anyway, the longest wait for me was only like 20min. and that was for the Speed 6. The target time was 41sec. I got 48 the first time and 46 the second time.

The best part was driving the RX-8 and the Miata. I was pleasantly suprised, except the RX-8 felt a little rough, the engine light was on, and it smelled like ***t. But it's still a very fun car to drive...zoom zoom so to speak

Gee, it sounds like one who hasn't made it to the massive recall.

I went on Sunday! The line was too long for the mazdaspeed6, I ended up driving the mazda 3 and the Rx-8. I got a warning for screeching the tires in the mazda3??? The rx-8 was a fun course, but had no power under 4k rpm. Great entertainment for FREE!

what?

Since when does Lexus hold events where you get to beat on their cars for a day on their dime???

Add to that, what Lexus cars would actually be fun to beat on anyway???
