What are some good restaurants around here that you like, say in a 35 mile radius from the Oakland area?

What sort of restaurant are you looking for? Price range? Cuisine? Atmosphere?

If you want the absolute best of the best, go to Masa's in San Francisco. It serves modernist French food, and the chef is world-renowned Ron Siegel (he defeated Iron Chef Sakai a few years ago on national TV in Japan ). The best food I have ever tasted, and impeccable service and atmosphere. Just be prepared to pay out your butt (at least $60 per person )

Yep, Ron Siegel's executive chef at Masa's now. He used to be at Charles *** Hill all those years ago

Baywolf is in Oakland, and is fantastic. Chez Panisse in Berkeley is huge on Zagat, and Rivoli is also excellent.
