I am strongly considering running a GoPro at all times when I drive. This is just sheer stupidity. Texting and driving? Playing WITH the radio? Smacking the kids in the back seat? Dozing off?

Driving is a privilege, not a right. And people should be REQUIRED to take defensive driving courses before being handed a license, in my opinion. No exceptions.

I could have used a gopro yesterday. TWO idiots in two cars traveling together. Both going WELL under the speed limit, driving stupid. I was trying to make the same turn they were at and the two of them are driving like 10mph. I HONK and I can see the chick in front of me react but she keeps driving the same. The first vehicle (brand new Rover) turns into a driveway and the second one starts to go too...even though I can see a Mercedes coming in the other direction very obviously. This chick didn't speed up or slow down, she just keeps going right in front of the Mercedes. I gave her a gap because I thought for sure I was about to witness an accident. I *almost* pulled into the parking lot so I could get pics of the license plate because this person should not have been on the road.

The weekend before last I had a Ford Five Hundred spin 180% from the center lane and into the grassy center median literally right after I passed him for no reason at all. He was incredibly lucky he didn't hit anything. Had it happened about 1 second earlier his whip would have hit a bridge and he would have lost his potato.

Quintessential random accident.

Seems pretty cool and takes high quality video. Anyone know anything about dash cams?

I've been wanting one for a while... I see all sorts of dumb **** on the road, youtube GOLD!
DashCamTalk Forum • Index page is great

If you want to spend as much money as the one shown in your link, I'd go with a BlackVue (DR400G-HD Vehicle Video Recorder 16GB (1080p) - BlackVue USA). It's a bit more pricey, but the quality of the video is amazing. Also, it has some awesome features.

Perfect timing. I watched a Camry yesterday in Novato switch lanes before a light, not slow down and just pile into the back of a Bimmer. Low speed, but it was amazing to witness such absentmindedness. Gettin' me a dash cam (and avoiding driving near Camry's)

We have a thread for it. This thread probably should have been part of that one

Yea I use my gopro for a dash cam until I get a dedicated one for the front, then I can use the gopro to point towards my rear end. Thats how I got video of that road side smog check, etc. other stupid events involving ppl driving.
