of your exhaust....




so i was driving my gf home tonight after eating dinner and i just started heading out to my house. Started the car, got in it, and slowly made my way towards my place. About 5 blocks up, i was stopped at a light, cop sees me, comes around and gets behind me. Followed me for about 5 blocks and then eventually hits the lights.


I already knew they were going to pull me over, so it was no surprise. I pulled over instantly and turned off my car. Rolled down both windows halfway, pull the key out of the ignition, throw them on the dash, and kept both hands on the steering wheel. She comes over to my passenger side, big smile on her face, and asks

cop: "Do you have a drivers license?"
me: "yes"
cop: "do you know why i pulled you over?"
me: "no"
cop:"you have a modified exhaust, it doesnt not meet compliance but no worries, it's just a fix it ticket. You get it fixed, pay 10 dollars and everything will be fine"
me: "is my exhaust too loud officer causing it to not meet compliance?"
cop: "you have an aftermarket exhaust and therefore you need to fix it."
me: "...okay"
cop: "and you also have stuff coming out of it"
me: "but that's because i just left form my gf's place and my car isn't even warmed up fully, that's just condensation due to the cold temperature"
cop: "you have stuff coming out and somethings definitely not right with your vehicle"
me: "okay"



I have a greddy evo exhaust, and i was driving normally during the whole time when she was following behind me. There's no way my exhaust was even loud enough for her to notice it in the beginning. There was stuff coming out of my exhaust? jesus christ.


I'm not complaining because i got a ticket for a loud exhaust, hell if i did get one BECAUSE i had a loud exhaust, i wouldn't even have this thread. It's just pathetic how she took the white "smoke" aka condensation coming out as a sign that something is wrong with my car and i need to get it fixed.

And the whole time, when i questioned her about my exhausts' "loudness" she just stated that it's not in compliance. wtf.



I guess i shouldn't be driving my car until it's warmed up to the point where i dont "spit out white stuff".


ps. the whole time while they were writing me up a ticket, i saw at least 5 cars drive down 19th ave with obnoxiously loud exhaust. whatever.

 

my exhaust is wayyy louder than yours, and i haven't had any trouble. the girl sounded like a douche with no reason to pull you over.

my reason for pulling you over is because you have a "slowbaru"

i've been behidn my own car before when i let my friends drive it. there's no way you can even hear my exhaust setup while inside another vehicle even if you're right smack behind it. The engine noise from the car completely covers up my exhaust noise.


my car is THAT quiet.

good reason to start warming up your car to operating temps prior to driving. Better for your motor and you won't have "stuff coming out of your exhaust" lol

It's really too bad cops don't get in some sort of trouble for handing out BS tickets with no bearing. You cannot state your case on the road, you have to "tell it to the judge" as I have been suggested to do before. Sure, it gets taken care of but what a load of crap. So weird how you are guilty until proven innocent rather than the other way around.

 

ya rly...wtf? She must be either really ****ing stupid or something cause if she'd notice...she'd have that spewing from her own service vehicle on a cold day. Dumb *****.
