Someone just tried to use my American Express card to sign up for a dating site. Maybe they would have more luck getting a significant other with they weren't a cheating, stealing scum bag
What I love is that AE denied the charge, canceled my card, and is sending out a new card, but most likely nothing will happen to whoever tried to use the number.

I got my Social Security card and my drivers lic stolen from work...
About a month later I get a call from the cops who said they found my stuff at the home of a janitor who worked for my company... Apparently they found more then just mine and are charging him with many counts of theft and ID theft...
I got lucky, very lucky. People who do this kind of crap need to die in a FIRE, or acid.

The weird thing is, my card is still in my wallet...
Oh, and for those of you that are going to ask, yes I'm sure I wasn't the one signing up for the dating site

Nice they caught it right away!! I had id theft several years ago and some of it still haunts me. This happened in oregon when i used to live there. I had my dads drivers license in my wallet too just because it was his last recent photo of him before he died.. they even did id theft on a dead person.. They caught 2 of the 6 people using my info.

You'd be amazed at how easy it is to steal credit card info from a website... Even secured sites are NOT SAFE.
My wife got a bogus charge in Iraq of all places... She got a call within an hour of the charge and was refunded as it was obviously a bogus charge.
