I am considering to get a XT in the near future..I think it will be fun at the track after suspension mods.
Altho I don't know much about the new forester, but i know the old body has the same chassis as the GC body.
just different body panels...
Who knows.. maybe the new body is capable of going fast in corners?

With the XT now availible, I see no reason to ever get a GDA WRX unless its an STI
Long live the XT!!! (I drove it too, yes it is fast)
As far as suspensions, you just need the Forester strut tops for a nice set of coilovers to work
Throw on some sticky tires, and you can keep up with any Subie in the corners

The car is definitely fast. There is litterally no turbo lag in that car in either both the manual or automatic. It uses the same turbo as the WRX so it spools up prett quick and the 2.5L does a good job of hiding the turbo lag. It does make WRXs feel slow. I am sure that with some suspension mods and better tires, that thing is very potent. The only difference in motors other than the turbo and intercooler from the outside would be the internals.
Fueling the fires even more for an eventual migration to the 2.5t for the WRX? :P
Thumbs up on the new Forester, it's got the stealth factor (that I love about the wrx wagon) in spades, and I can't wait to see the faces of SRT4 owners at stoplight races
Be proud it's a Subie!

i think the reason for the XT to be faster than a WRX with similar HP but heavier body is because it has shorter gearing. thinking abt it, top spped at 130mph is pretty weak for a 2.5 turbo.
