WTF!? 105,000 service

Ok so I went into Prestige Dealership in Santa Rosa last week and the Subaru Guy wasn't there. I talked to the VW guy and told him I need my 105xxx mile timing belt service. I told him about my 2002 raw fuel smell leak the one notorious in most 02's. Also my AC isn't even turning on so I figure since you guys are down there check it out Well, finally the subaru rep calls me back and quotes me ALMOST $3600!!! WTF!?

Timing belt - $1600
105,000 service?? - $300
VALVE ADJUSTMENT????- $800
A/C diagnosis - $200
RAW FUEL LEAK THAT SHOULD BE FREE - $700

Um does this sound right...
any suggestions/opinions i'm flat broke right now...

***UPDATE: 6/4/09:
So I just want to say thank you everybody for your opinions and experiences. I finally decided to go with LIC due to their low prices in comparison with their expertise dealing with Subaru's. I took my car down and got it back all in one day's time with everything done that I asked for perfectly. In the end this is what I got done:

-Timing Belt
-Water Pump
-Water Pump Gasket
-Crank Seal
-Cam Seals
-A/C Belt
-P/S Belt
-Coolant
-Coolant Conditioner
-Thermostat
-Thermostat Gasket
-Timing Belt Tensioner
-Timing Belt Idler #1
-Timing Belt Idler #2
-Timing Belt Idler #3
-Timing Belt Idler #4
-Timing Belt Idler Bolt for #4 (and only on 02 Models)
-Mobil 1 5w30 Oil Change
-Test A/C System, New Seals for A/C System + Recharge
-Cold Start Fuel Smell

OTD price was $1,452.95

Again I just want to thank the LIC crew and Noah for doing a superb job on my vehicle and making things go as smoothly and quickly as possible, all while being informative and friendly.

FINAL VERDICT: Although I have only had my car back for a day, it is running great, hopefully the fuel smell is gone for good, and the AC works. I highly recommend them for all your Subaru Needs (AND STAY AWAY FROM PRESTIGE DEALERSHIP!)

Dude that is insane. If that is the case, I would rather do some research and find someone else to do it for me...

the raw fuel leak shouldn't be free unless you have a warranty.

timing belt service is not that much unless you are at the dealership... a/c diagnosis is all off what their hourly charge. if it is 100/hr then they are charging you for the 2 hour diagnosis for the check on your A/C. 105,000 service involves alot of little stuff... $300 is about right

Seriously! Got to be kidding me when I heard his message. My car is running fine except for the A/C and now they want me to drop close to 4 grand and my AC still wont even be fixed......... Greedy *****es

I'd probably go to LIC instead of the dealership up there for your 105k service.

Yeah, I was thinking maybe fine line imports, since I drive by them everyday anyways.

Eff that noise! I'd try PJs automotive, right near Piner and Coffey. They've been very fair to me and just did a wheel bearing for me at a much more reasonable price than most other places were quoting. Definitely worth having them take a look when you're getting quoted over $3K!

so the consensus is LIC huh? Is there anything I can leave out, is the valve adjustment absolutely necessary?

I also agree with LIC, but if you don't want to make the trek down to Novato, PJ's is a pretty decent alternative. It just depends on if you've got the time/ability to get down to LIC for the service.

Well first off that dealership sucks big ole donkey yahoo's. they kicked me off their lot before.
It's worth checking out someone else. LIC has a great history and a large customer following which says something about their work.
I looked at their website and it says 105K starts at $650.

FLI or LIC

Prestige blows big donkey nuts.

i sold back my warranty after they told me a new clutch and a stock resurfaced flywheel was 1700-1900
