wrx vs sti?

this is about the recent thread that was closed down regarding the kid with the 04 sti.

i agree that the kid's attitude was off...but i dont know if that warranted to insults from the other members of the board saying that kids who get a sti as first car dont deserve respect.

lots of kids especially in california gets nice cars. if u go to a high school in your area...your bond to see a couple nice cars. and the new STIs dont cost THAT much. a 3 series bmw costs more...and there are plenty at the local high schools in my area.

there were also comments about how kid's who first get their licenses dont know how to drive. this is fact in most cases...but people on the boards dont have to make this fact evident in order to berate someone.

the thread reminded me of this thread.
http://www.flat-6.net/phpBB/viewtopi...2&forum=16&255

its been posted on a couple forums...but i dont think its been posted here yet.
check it out...its a lot better and way more drama than the sti vs wrx one

You are just giving him more attention by making yet another new post about it...

I went to talk to him in person today, since he has auto shop w/my GF's son.

He knew I was coming...and he left school early...with his 16yr old buddy with the EVO...

Many on this board share my views on this issue.

I for one don't want to talk about this anymore...I just want this kid to stand up for himself...in person.

David<------Was hoping to take these fools out to Redwood Road today

redwood rd!.

nice! iddin't realy all of the thread. did he say he was a better driver?
if he did...then dats just his ego. every kid has a huge ego...cuz their naive still. many still are once they reach more mature ages.
you'll probably beat him on the rd for sure...but that doens't mean anything. all it means is that ur age and experience make u a better driver over him at his young age.

hahah...there are kids 16 year old kids...especially in european countries that will hand just about everyone on this board their *** in a race. cars is a great part of their culture and many race carts at younge age. they are probably filled with ego and talk **** all the time to other drivers...but they can back it up. this is just to say that age doesnt' matter.

hey...i think ive hit redwood rd before.
its this road with hella deer on it at night right? it takes u out close to calveras rd?
it has a bunch of sweepers.....few if no hairpins?

i would love to drive those roads and others if soemone you wanted to set up a date for a drive. give me a nice tour of the roads over there...and i'll return the favor with a tour of the roads from mid-pennisula down south to santa cruz.

The kid lives in my town.

He's in my GF's son's class at school.

I have never met him.

I just wanted to talk to him.

Apparently they got scared for some reason...cowards....in an EVO and scared of my lil' ole' stock WRX.....

It's too bad because I was going to have them FOLLOW ME on either Redwood Road or Reliez Valley Road or something similar...

I try to turn negative situations into positive ones.

I have been to Europe, and I'm of European descent; I'm familiar with culture over there.

I have never driven in a country where everyone pretty much drives like me 'til I went to France....that was great.

I have respect for 15 & 16yr. old drivers if they are into Karting, but that's about it. Karting is more popular in Europe than in the U.S.

Plus almost all youth in Europe ride mopeds or motorcycles, rather than high-end sports cars....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My favorite roads (in no particular order):
Redwood Road
Pinehurst Road
Skyline Blvd.
Old Tunnel Road
Grizzly Peak Road
Wilcat Canyon Road
Bear Creek Road
Reliez Valley Road
Alhambra Valley Road
Marsh Creek Road
Mt. Diablo Scenic Blvd./Summit Road
Norris Canyon Road
Crow Canyon Road
Cull Canyon Road
Bolinas/Fairfax Road
Hwy 1/PCH
Dave, I would be really suspicious of this dude. Odds are, he can't drive, and he is going to wipe out trying to keep up with you. And, usually the little punk rich kids have sue happy parents and expensive lawyers.
And I have no respect for some young punk that drives a car that he doesn't deserve. And no young punk deserves a high output car. Plain and simple.
Just to clarify:
I knew that these kids were total rookies.
I had no intention of "hot laps"...just to get them to follow me and learn the "line".....really though! I would not have followed them, nor would I have been in front of them at any speed...
I have every right to be on that campus...I'm my GF's son's Guardian; I'm on his emergency card...I have as much right to be there as the Parent of any Student. Plus teachers/administrators there know me and like me...
Fortunately, I have the best Attorney in the East Bay/Tri-Valley on my retainer, so no worries there!
Andy: I agree with your opinion on these kids wholeheartedly!
I have never seen so many spoiled brat kids as I have seen here in the Bay Area.
It makes me so bitter. Worse yet, these little bastards can't even drive.
We see it with Honda's all the time: Two little $hits get into a pissing contest, lose their better judgement, go out and race and ending up killing themselves, their passengers, or worse yet, innocent bystanders. This problem is only going to escalate with the introduction to faster cars for the spoiled little $hits.
I hope that they wrap thier cars around trees. I don't hope that they die or anything, but I need parts, and I also would like thier parents to see what a mistake spoiling brats is.
david's right on this one. it's important to be friends with the teachers and administrators (and anyone else for that matter), it always helps. he does have every right to be there to pick up his kid. be careful that your son and your gf are okay with what you're doing. but you already knew that.
hopefully you guys can reach a mutually beneficial agreement regarding these matters.
04STI
Glad to hear that either your parent bought you or your self earn that high performence car in your early ages, which from what I have been reading around this forums. But dive safely on the road it a must! just remember that at all time.
Having parent buying a brand new car in early age, or even after receiving driver license. That probably what everybody wanted, some of us maybe lucky, some maybe not. If 04STI ready does get this new STI (which is from what I been reading), I'll be glad to hear that, don't mind giving me a ride right??
Anyway, my parent are not any rich people in the bay too, jsut a normal family, compare to the people living in Mission or those new houses around, which cost 500K+, we are like nothing. In my late 17 year old, my parent bought me a brand new Honda Prelude Type SH, ask brucelee, he use to live next to me and goto the same high school.( sorry, I bought it becuse Impreza don't have turbo back then ). The car was 28K out the door when my parent bought it for me, I mean I don't think I'm spoiled, either I never been spoiled, I do everything around in the house every weekend, you name it. Plus, I'm positive I'm a good driver since I'm 16 when I got my license, got 98 point on my road test, never got any ticket still ( finally, I can walk into the pub and drink alcohol, wahahah), and as of "safety" on the road.
So everyone just please leave this kid alone, stop posting anything that against him or so, cause it getting no where and really annoying, making this forums look so unhealthy. And you 04sti, if you have questions, post it. if there is something that about this topic again, just walk out of it, be more mature. Just tried to stay away from it, cause the more you say, the worst it goes, should know well after all this, right?? I know you want to share your happiness with others, but since what happen right now, I would suggest you keep it to your self form now, or share with your other friends.
we all love subaru, and that why we are here, keep the hate out of this forums, becuase it makes it as bad racism, please keep this forums healthier.
Alan
