would you buy a car with 98k on it?

like the title... Would you buy an 00RS with 98k on it? I know a lot of people here have their car above 100k. but anyone here with 150k? 200k? I mean, I don't think it's too bad. My Protege has 130k on it and it's still running okay. My sister didn't take care of it at all until I took it over since ~95k. Ever since I got it I am very good on maintenance, just because it's my only car and I can't let it die.

Some of the long term factor I might need to consider? Engine rebuild, clutch replacement, etc. Thanks!

hey Vic! How you doing?! Yeah, I've been wanting to come back for a long time. But money was/is an issue. Kept on doing the math and STi just not possible. WRX is not a problem, but won't have much money left for racing, upgrade, repair (I know that will come), etc.

I don't want it go out too soon. because I have no plan on upgrading the car soon. Well, nothing THAT big.

Are you still doing rallyx? or anyother automotive sports? I think I'll start with autox again then rallyx. It's been WAY too long man.

So, other people, what do you guys think? Anyone out there with 150k, 200k, or even more on their motor?

Worst comes to worst. If the engine goes, it gives you an excuse to swap.

I think with proper maintenance, a subaru should easily hit 200k. Do a simple compression test, that should tell you something about the motor.

Good luck with your inquiry, hopefully the car is perfect for ya.

If it helps, I have a 94 Geo Prizm with 146k miles. Its my beater car and it still runs like a champ! Its an automatic and I drive it like it were my WRX. I drive the car so hard, it shifts at 6k rpm. Point is, my car still runs and never showed any signs that were worth being worried about. Hope that helps.

thanks guys! everyone is telling me to do a swap later. I guess that's not a bad idea. Pete, I guess I might be able to make it to your next TSD rally. This time I'll get some good deer whitsle before I go.

We...

Just picked up a Forester (99) with 124K on the odo. After the head gasket repair is done, I think we'll keep it for another 124K or maybe 248K or maybe 496K...
