Anyone going to World Cup 2010? Tickets go on sale on the 20th. Hoping I'm able to get some tickets.

They got really lucky in 06. Italian soccer is ugly and they are drama queens.

I'm going with some friends. Yeah it's gonna cost a lot of money but world cup games are crazy. Plus I figure I gotta do this before I get married and have kids and other major responsibilities. I went to the Russia v. Cameroon World Cup game in '94 at Standford Stadium and the atmosphere was crazy and this was just a group stage game.

 

I was expecting alot of this with my comment. its ok though... we still got the title.

my GF just got back from RSA and she said its awesome, but apparently, everyone is concerned about the world cup. tons of people, shakey politics, etc.

most of the locals advised her to stay away in 2010

 

and national pride.

Takes quite a bit of skill to play this game.

 

South Africa is really scary. Last time I heard, racism is still very strong there.

 

she said it was weird and tacitly approved of. strangley allot of people miss apartheid because living conditions were higher despite lack of freedom.

she said the only place they ever worried about safety was in some of the bad parts of Johannesburg
