It'll probably have a sign that says "This Bridge has been repaired by CalTrans. Proceed with Caution."

Heck, they should leave it closed until they finish building the new bridge - I know it doesn't sound popular, but BART ridership is up, and it's getting people to go more green.

^ I dont think its even a possible thought to leave it closed that long. Yea its helping out the environment but too many ppl would be super pissed having to leave an extra hr, 2hrs, 3hrs ect to work.

Closed Bay Bridge = HUGE loss in state revenue. They wont keep it closed til the new one is done.

I think the people that drive over the San Mateo or Richmond and Golden Gate bridges more than makes up for any "greening" of the area by increased bart usage

Yeah, probably, I read in the paper (who still does that?) CalTrans didn't expect to have the bridge open anytime before the weekend ended. They might as well keep it closed all weekend just to make sure everything is taken care of.

I'm wondering how much they are REALLY losing $$ wise, more ppl going across the Golden Gate at $5 a pop can't hurt.

But we wouldn't be in this mess hadn't the powers that be (or were, in the 90's) hadnt spent 10 years arguing over bridge aesthetics.

Anybody else noticing more carpool lane cheats, looks like people are pulling the "Inter arma enim silent leges" card, haha.

The people who go over the GG have to pay two tolls 4$ for the Richmond and 6$ for the GG.
