lol the third gear pull gave me 264 hp and 239 tq. It's kinda strange because the base numbers were in the 230s ... and the last time i tuned (about a year ago?) i had 251 hp and 235 tq ... so i was expecting a lil more ... but the car feels a lot faster and im happy with it. Thx everyone.

last time you where tuned was it on gruppe-s's dyno? if not that will explain the lil power gains(on paper) and the butt dyno gains

so you picked up 13whp with just a FMIC? thats pretty good actually, FMIC isnt so much a 'big number' mod as much as they allow you to safely and consistently support big numbers, its worth a bit over a TMIC power wise, so the fact that it picked up 13whp as well is pretty damn good

Yeah, perhaps on his previous tune the TMIC was heatsoaked or the vf34 is almost into hair dryer mode, so the FMIC is helping a lot with cooling the intake charge

just gotta build an ice chest for your TMIC like me

1/4" closed-cell nitrile foam wraped with fiberglass-aluminum composite material

Sweet, that stuff is rated to 2000C? Its hella retarded how the evos intercooler return pipe goes right past the hot turbo and engine before enterring the TB, so I want to do something similar with the return piping on the intercooler and maybe the intake as well

I dont get why they routed it right next to the engine, instead of moving the battery a tad to the left and routing on the outside of the engine bay

this is why I am just waiting for the 2008 impreza. If it turns out ugly, i'll get an STi. If my current motor blows(at 68,500 miles now) then i'll get a 2.5L.

heh, Im sure it still stays 100X cooler than a top mount, Im just trying to avoid going FMIC again, this is probalby all a stop-gap until I get off my azz and put together a AWIC

as far as the material, Im not sure what aspect of it is rated at 2000 degrees, but I would def not put it directly onto 2000 degree pieces, this is the same material they make turbo wrap out of (prolly the 2000 degree part) but its the adhesive backed version, this adhesive is def not good to 2K degrees!

ic ic, where did oyu get the nitrile foam from? What's it rated at?

Yeah, I guess I could have bigger problems than a poorly routed factory FMIC
