Wingless Questions
So ive been wondering about going wingless on my WRB 04 STi. A few questions I have is, most wingless trunks i see have the Subaru emblem in it (The one with the stars), and is fully debadged.
So im wondering. Can i get a trunk with no subaru emblem, and only having the STi badge on? Do they sell trunks like these or do i have to go private seller?

You'd have to go through a private seller if you were looking to buy a trunk setup like that. The 02-05 Imprezas said "Subaru" on the rear and no star badge but had the "RS" or "WRX" or "STI" badge. Since you have an 04 your's would fall in this category where you'd just need to remove the "Subaru" part. Details on doing that I do not know exactly.
The 06-07 Impreza's are the ones with the star badge on the rear with the "RS" or "WRX" or "STI" badge.
Your other option is picking up a CF trunk then putting the STI badge on that and painting it to match if you wanted.

02-05 had no "star" emblem and only letter badges. 06/07 have the emblem which unfortunately comes with two holes behind it that need to be filled if it's removed.
Subaru will sell you a wingless trunk (for a pretty penny) and paint it WRB and add whatever badges you want but it's going to cost you.
Best bet is to search around private party and pick up a 02-05 trunk (they're almost always debadged completely) and add the emblems/lettering you want by ordering from someone like subarugenuineparts.
This is iclub sooooo next time try using the search to find your answers.
Edit: wow talk about quick responses hahaa. Read above posts lol

I've been told it can be hard to get a perfect or close match with WRB when painting over cf- I think if the plan is to paint it from day 1 an metal one is the preferred choice?

Never actually heard that, but I have seen quite a few people paint their CF hoods and trunks WRB and have it matched really well if not perfect. But I can see where painting metal of FB/CF could be easier/better.
