if he was wacking at it and no gaskets, I'll bet there might have been missing gaskets elsewhere and now has a leak hence the CEL.

I'd ask him for the codes pretend to care but that'll help you determine if he is full of doo doo.

Trading just the axle back portion shouldn't cause any effects he is describing. Have him reset his ECU to see it that helps.

Jesus Crispies!

You basically traded mufflers. If the guy honestly thinks this caused misfires, he is an absolute moron. Anyone he complains to about the transaction will tell him the very same thing.

And trading back isn't going to change a damn thing on his car other than the noise volume.

the muffler is different in the internal diameter which might a little loss in power? (no clue why he would throw a cel tho)

in regards to what mountaincruiser said- getting a re-tune literally a week after you get one is kind of a waste of money. ($350 bucks x2)

i would trade back just cuzz it would suck to drive around with an exhaust you don't like.

but yeah its entirely up to you.

Catbacks are good for 5-10 hp at best. The difference between catbacks (especially from the same mfg) would be a percentage of that. So we're maybe talking about 1-2 HP. If someone can feel 1-2 HP, they have the most sensitive butt dyno in the world.

dont trade it back. catback doesnt do any of those thing. even if is turbo back if he is tuned with the same DP its same thing.

he just regret the trade and want to trade it back. dont do it. he made his mistake and let him learn a listen. but BS about the problem is not going to get him anywhere, if he say the truth that he regret the trade, then you might consider it.

he either regrets trading, or he may have messed up the one you traded him with and is trying to get his old muffler back. no reason why a axle-back would cause him to throw a CEL.

if he could prove it was the axle-back I would trade back. tell him to take it off and run a straight pipe. Flow will be more open.

Do I or do I not instigate BAIC drama and ask if the RX will cause my car to throw codes?

haha you guys are a bunch of ****in stupid asses. think about it. i got tuned with a very high flowing exhaust. there for my turbo spooled faster and i got power earlier. now with a restrictive muffler im getting a lot more back pressure and not spooling as soon which throws off everything that it was tuned specifically for so i get no power and i did throw a ****in cel. i dont care what you all think is possible. i reset it and it hasnt come back but it still runs ****ty. and yea, granted i miss the sound but thats not the only reason im trading back. i admit its nice to be able to drive by cops with it at anything over 3k.

so bryan, enjoy

the rest of you. dont talk **** when you dont know whats going on

You know whats funny....why wouldn't you speak to a tuner first or do a little bit of research before doing a purchase that could alter how your car operates?? Just some common effin sense man.
