Why do cashier girls feel the need to diss me?
Seriously, I'm NOT checking them out. I'm married. I'm way older than them. And I *don't* (usually) find THEM attractive. But they seem to feel the need to give me the pre-emptive brush off.
It happened again tonight. I went to buy some groceries. I chose the line that was finishing the last transaction, which happened to be a girl in her early 20's. Standard practice at this store is for the cashier to greet, say "thank you, Mr. blahblah, you saved $xxx today. Have a good evening" kind of stuff.
Nothing. She wouldn't look me in the eye. It was the brush off, and I hadn't done ANYTHING. I only know what she looks like because I was ready to return the courtesy greet. And really, *I* didn't think she was cute. Not ugly, but I didn't find her attractive.
Does this happen to anyone else here? Or do I just have "loser" tattooed on my forehead? :su****ious:
EDIT: unbelievable... did the swear filter really just bleep the automatic smiley "su****ious"???

I was at Safeway and that happened to me. Cashier was an early 20's Asian girl, there were a couple of customers in front of me, who were white. Cashier greeted every single one of them, when it was my turn to get rung up, she gave me the cold shoulder too, not even a thank you, good day.

Even if they do, I don't notice or give a rat's ***. I just take my groceries and leave like I normally do. I have a habit of replying with, "Good, yourself?" whenever they ask, "Hi, how are you today?" Some of them get thrown off when I politely ask the "yourself?" part. Haha.

there could be soo many reasons to consider why she didnt make eye contact with you. like maybe she was about to close her line and then all of sudden you show up preventing her from taking a break or watever. next time it happens just have something clever to say try to throw her off should be funny lol. keep us updated
