We discussed this topic in an Intercultural Communications class last quarter.
My teacher was a single Asian male in his thirties and had obvious relationship issues. Asian men are typically more "old school" and want to date within there ethnicity/race/social group. It was something like 70 something percent of Asian men date within there ethnicity/race/social group, but only 30 something percent of Asian women date Asians. One of the issues is that there are more Asian men than Asian women, so Asian women have more choices when choosing their mate. They are essentially in control of who they date (maybe true for all women). Soo there tend to be a ton of single Asian men because Asian women choose to date outside of their ethnicity/race/social group more frequently.
When speaking about dating within there ethnicity/race/social group, African-American women are almost the same as Asian men when it comes to dating in that 70 something percent of African-American women date within there own race, while African-American males are more likely to date outside of there ethnicity/race/social group.
There were some other factors but I can't remember right now because it was last quarter. lol

Does anyone remember "VH1 Presents: Ego Trip's Race-O-Rama"? There was one segment where they that said Asian men and black women should unite to empower one another as they are categorically the most unpopular demographics in the US.
