My company does the same thing. Pushes 5 misc. holidays into the last week of Dec. so we get a week off. At least there wasn't any traffic going to work this morning.

Im working right now....the only days off we get is christmas and new years, but if we want a certain day off we can get it off as long as we ask it in advance.

A lot of the Asian companies in my area (South City) are closed today. I think more and more companies are starting to recognize these smaller holidays. I wish we did.
