Whoa! CA Plated Skyline R33 GTR For Sale in LA!!
#3
IIRC some company was importing r33's and there were a couple allocated for government crash test. I think they also forged a ton of paperwork too though. They are cool cars but $36k buys a lot and it seems more trouble than it's worth.

Just buy one pre-ban and pay the tax stamp no?
Or import it, register and pay the tax on it...which would be ridiculous but doable.

MotoRex
MotoRex in SoCal was the only one that could legalize them at the time. They had only crash tested four R33 chassis but still got the R32/R34 legalized. Started forging documents to keep up with order flow and other complications and got shut down, owner arrested. Only if your skyline was purchased during MotoRex's heyday, can it remain CA legal.

No. Skylines were never sold in the US. Motorex apparently crash tested a couple to get crash data to show that they met US guidelines. They only did this with r33's though so I'm guessing that's how this thing got a CA plate and hasn't been seized yet.

Not to mention its $36k!! You can find super low mileage(~15k) z06 for $28k. Slap a blower on that thing and your still under $36k.
