Yeah I did my homework on the swap last year.

Someone dare me to do this!

Consider this a dare oh dodgy one!

Why? Because noone has done it yet with the EZ30-R, because it would sound awesome, because an H6 turbo swap in an STI = something you cant even think about making street legal or even be able to sell the car, because folks from other car groups might be more interested in a built N/A H6, but most importantly why not?

I dunno, it just sounds like something an all motor honda sackswinger would say.

"omg, id much rather have a 190whp b18c than some stupid turbo"

A 300whp EZ30-R wont be anything near street legal either (nor very street drivable, not that a 550whp gt35r equiped motor is either) and most folks on these boards are concerned with raw power

Just my opinion. Unless you are rocking 8+ cylinders, FI is the only way to go to make good reliable power with a usable power band with torque to boot

THANK YOU for this info. I already have the JDM bumper beam, and an Odyssey battery. I think an aluminum or CF hood would do just about the rest. There are a couple other things I could do as well. If you consider it would be N/A in my car thus no turbo, extra piping, w/g, i/c, etc I think it could be pretty close to the same weight and weight dist.

That's your opinion. Cool. 550whp would be sweet and all that, but for me not really useful. I have had much more fun on road courses with underpowered, nice handling cars than I have with cars with gobs of power.

IMHO having a lighter and simpler setup is key, in addition to the ability to not dump barrels of fuel down my engine if I don't want to. For a car that I plan to use daily and on a track, taking away points of failure and expense would be best. I would personally MUCH rather have a ~300hp light, simple torquey RS than a heavy, complicated, expensive turbo H6 powered STi with tons of little pieces that could fail. That's just me. Plus there's the part of me that is dying to hear an H6 piped through a thoughtfully constructed exhaust...

Don't get me wrong, a 550whp Sti would be a kick in the **** to take for a spin. Just for me, personally, I would have more fun with less power and less weight. I have spent a good amount of time on road courses in different cars and the lighter cars with less power and less at stake were always more fun for me. Your results may vary.

So Jeremy,

I booked you in next week. We've blocked off the whole week for you and rescheduled everyone else. I'll be doing the work personally. See you on Monday. Thanks!

Uh, hello you kinda forgot a whole brand while making this statement...

And yes, I do think the EZ30-R could be very streetable with 300+HP. In fact, bolt on mods and tuning might get it over 300hp right off the bat, not including cams or other internal work.

I've actually seen Porshe people interested in this motor as a replacement for older Porsches because the EZ30-R is significantly cheaper and there are adapter kits already availible.

And no, I have no relation to the all-motor N/A ricer boys...
