would you get the same gas mileage with a RA gear set on a stock wrx compared to a stock gear box?

Depends on how you drive your car (eg. floor it in every gear till redline, slowly accelerating, etc)

ra gear set

Who has heard of someone blowing up a set Ra gears? After having the Ra gear set in, Im so paranoid of my ra gear set giving out and i can't imagine going through another set. What are good signs that your gears may be giving out? Finding some metal shavings in your tranny oil? I'd rather sell my car, than having to pay for another gear set. Anyone beat the crap out of their Ra gears and still no problem? Cuz whats the point of having a modified car and not being able to push it. IMO.

Silly...

Just get a Forester XT 5MT.

They're rumored (and I believe it) to have the RA gearset in them.

The gears are a ton of fun and you are always up in the power band. With that said, for those of you who have not had them, 4000rpm in 5th gear is only 85mph. I think I lost on average 20-30 miles a tank.

OH...he wants them TREATED??

Maybe a good cryo treatment or something? Maybe a day at the spa?

It would get him a lot closer to what he's looking for. None of the Forester guys have had problems with their trannies, and some of them are making over 300WHP...
