D2 has a lot of problems but most of them stem from duping, hacking (tppk, etc) and boting. If the auction house brings Blizzard more money and the new battlenet works, I think we can expect things to be a lot different. Accounts and items will get sold outside of the game regardless so why not just let it happen publically in game and make a cut.

Thats pretty much all I need to upgrade too. Im still using a gtx260 from when I built my system 2 years ago. I think my i7 and supporting hardware should still work with all these games.

It's either this or SWTOR for my next big game. Since I don't have the time anymore to play for hours like I did with WoW, I am leaning towards D3.

I will have to say though.. one thing i hated about d2 though was the ladder resets... I work so hard to find all the gear and items i have then it becomes worthless once ladder resets...

Blizzard isn't giving out keys for the beta -- they are activating accounts that are registered on bnet.
The only way you can really get hooked up is if you get in to the friends and family beta (by knowing someone at blizzard), but that has already started, so you would probably know if that were the case.
