Been waiting patiently for this game as well. Im a huge MMO guy and happened to get into the Diablo series as well.

Hopefully with the RMT tradehouse ingame and the money it generates plus the new battlenet, the hacking and chinese farmers will be a non factor. Im about 99% sure I will get a beta key.

I am a little worried about being able to auction and buy stuff using actual money

Why? It always happens anyway, atleast this way there is massive competition which will drive the prices down and make the virtual pixels worth next to nothing. Atleast I hope it works that way haha.

This coming from a guy who made $10k on Everquest btw. Another thing Im hoping for is no bots. Guess its time to go make sure my account on d2jsp is still active.

Speaking of Diablo, I still listen to this song regularly.

I do not want to play a game where I am required to make microtransactions to be competitive.

Its no different than if the items were sold on some offsite w/ chinese farmers and bots farming them. If you dont want to make the rmt microtransactions you can not do them or play on Hardcore.

To stay competitive, you have to have skill. Items arent going to make you if you simply suck at pvp and thats true for just about any game.

Much as I loved playing Diablo 2 (lvl 92 necromancer with skellies ) I'm going to wait till all the expansion packs come out and then buy a new computer. Don't think my "gaming" comp from 5 years ago can handle the graphics (dual 7900GTXs) lol

That's a nice setup. I've been looking in to building a gaming rig recently and my parts list looks similar. Might go with a 560ti or 1gb 6950.

I assume you have not PVPed in WoW?

you can suck and have the current season of gear and still not die

D2 had problems with being able to buy items, but I still am a bit skeptical about an auction house that is powered by actual cash and not in-game money.

D2 had rampant item selling as well -- just not in an organized auction house. All Blizzard is doing is regulating the inevitable, and potentially thwarting some hacking.

I'm not disagreeing with you that buying items is bad, but I don't necessarily disagree with Blizzard's move either.
