Who has gone snowboarding already?
I'm definitely going this week, how are runs looking? Is there enough snow? Are the snowmakers enough? I've never gone without a fresh sheet of snow...
Gonna be going somewhere near tahoe like boreal or north star or something... any suggestions? I've only been to bear valley, boreal and donner

From what I see and hear, the best spot is Northstar. They have 16 lifts open (which doesn't mean much since some don't even go to any snow) but they just opened more terrain and have something like 28 trails open. We were planning on going there, but with half or less of the mountain open a full price ticket ($91) isn't worth it to us. Boreal is also another good spot. $49/ ticket and a ton of park terrain with most of their mountain open (granted they're mountain is nowhere the size of the others).

Seriously! That's the only thing stopping us. $91 for a portion of the mountain on man made snow is a joke. Mt. Rose is a spot offering good deals. I know they're not fully open like everyone else and I've never been there, but it's also an option. I think we might end up going to Boreal. It'll still be fun

I went to kirkwood last weekend..went with a couple of first timers and used a discount card and only half day pass..although it wasnt the best snow, had fun, and got my snowboarding fix till the real snow comes..

not the best snow as in.. not enough snow or a little too icy? I just dont want to have an icy problem, thats my main focus. As long as there isnt ICE then I think I'll still have a good time.

It'd be either Wednesday or Friday. I really want to go this week cause my brother is in town and those are the only two days he's not playing hockey lol Kirkwood is a spot I wanted to go, but with only 3 lifts open I'm not 100% how much terrain there is.
I'm like you, I'll ride in whatever as long as its not ice. I don't think any of the resorts with man made snow are ice conditions. I'd say its hard but with that dusting of snow on top, which isn't bad to me. I rode at Boreal back in October on their 100% man made and it was actually really good snow. Couldn't even tell it was fake. Then again, they only had one strip of snow open so it was anything intense.

Since the summer I had a feeling I wasn't going to do too much snowboarding this season. I figured it'd be money related, instead it's lack of snow lol Hoping it gets better soon too, not really excited about this season.

been one time and the snow was man made and lame lol, my uncle told me that heavenly was good for man made snow!
I don't mind if it doesn't snow for awhile; my Heavenly-induced broken collarbone won't be healed until mid February anyway. I'm praying for snow for all you guys to ride, though!
