Right after I left roo and pleiad I headed north on 101, not one mile up out of Cloverdale I realized the road had a good inch of hail on it and I was headed into a turn at 60, I just let off the gas, turned on the hazards and drifted to the truck lane, slowing enough to regain control - in my rear-view I saw 2 or 3 other cars doing the same, but one white pickup was obviously losing it, fishtailing back and forth- totally out of control.

On my way back south about 20 minutes later, sure enough the pick-up was totally head-on'ed into the jersey barrier with ambulances and CHP, by that time the road was totally clear of any sign of the ice.

poor sucker....

Good to see you made it on the gas you had. We were a bit concerned. Funny thing (not really) is that when I called Flanders to let him know where to get gas?? He tells me he's fine, he's got a half a tank left!!

We practically coasted into Windsor on fumes.

I was distracted when Roo was waving wildly at me on 101 S and I continued on thinking that was his exit to home. He calls me thinking I must be running on fumes like him. Hell NO! I was at half tank after roughly 200 hard miles. My old *** NA gets good mileage.

Awesome drive! Who else saw wild turkeys, (fenced in) zebras, waves, snow and cows on public roads today?

PS: Apologies to the WRB STi driving towards Cazaderos today.

Ray, Cliff and I went to Bear this weekend, There was 3+" of snow of the road in Copperopolis. It just got worse as we got closer to Arnold.

Roo was green with envy - about a minute after he got off the phone with you, out of nowhere, he uttered "that's disgusting... half a tank left!!"
