I think it's crazy how much the media talks about this kind of stuff and basically gives terrorists maps to how to cripple complete cities.
The people who did this already knew right were to go. I think it's especially interesting when you read this article.

Still, I know what you are saying. Giving others the details is a bad idea. The press doesn't know how to excercise restraint and common sense. It's all about money and the way to achieve that is ratings. Anyone remember years ago when the Navy SEALs hit a beach, I think it was Somalia, and CNN was there with lights glaring to intercept them? Shameful. I wouldn't have cried if the SEALs had taken them out.

Yea the reward is $250,000 dollars now.

Authorities hope a quarter-million-dollar reward will shake loose a tipster to lead them to the vandals who severed underground fiber-optic cables, cutting off phone service for tens of thousands of people and disrupting life throughout southern Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and San Benito counties.
....
"This case is going to be solved through a citizen contact," said San Jose police Sgt. Ronnie Lopez, calling the reward "huge."
