I am NOT saying that you shouldn't have compassion for animals, but to put them over people seems wrong to me.
I think this woman is unhinged and I'm certain she'll get hers with all this publicity, but it's an animal, not a person...cruelty to people is far worse than the minor mistreatment of animals....and I suspect far more common.
Note : The cat was unharmed, the woman did not kill or damage the cat (ie no blood, no broken bones etc.).

It pisses me off as well to no limit. But I get just as angry when I hear of babies or kids being abused as well. I think it has to do with the innocence they all have in common. I've owned dogs for most of my life and they are the most unconditional loving beings, same goes with children. People like that lack compassion and they deserve none in return.

Please, wouldn't you be much angrier if someone molested your wife? Your mother?

I should have been more clear, of course personal things like my family and friends would be worse to me in terms of losing control, but in terms of strangers/pets/people I don't know... To watch a 3 year old kid get slapped for no good reason would surely **** me off, but for someone to do it to an innocent dog would make more more angry for some reason... Maybe because the kid could tell/cry/let someone know that the abuse happened whereas the animal cannot... I don't know why, it def seems weird to me too but I can't help it... Animals have a special spot in my heart (brain) and I have so much compassion for them... I don't know man, I don't know why, it's just something I feel really strongly about.
PS: Although this cat was unharmed other than waiting in a can for 16 hours, the potential of the situation is what makes it bad. What if a garbage truck came by to empty the can and used it's automated arm to pick it up and unload it into the back of the garbage truck... Once garbage is dumped into the truck it's compacted within the truck so the cat could have been crushed to death because it wouldn't have been able to get out of the back of the truck. This incident isn't NEARLY as bad as the others Ive seen, like the dog that was lit on fire for example. You might say that human abuse is worse but that's your opinion... I happen to think that they are equally bad (I'm not talking about insects and stuff, I'm talking about intelligent mammals and such that feel emotional and physical abuse), and as bad as they both are, something about an animal getting beat up for no reason makes my blood boil in a diff way... That animal can't stand up for itself and call the cops or sometimes they can't even fight back and that's what I think makes me want to rip someone's head off when/if I saw it happen in person VS seeing a human get slapped in real life.

I think his point is that random animals > random people. Well at least thats how it is for me. I disagree with cruelty to people being worse than animals, I think its the same. Of course everyone will feel more towards people they are close to.
I'm more upset that a lady did this to a cat rather than say, a kid or something. Animals cannot say no, they can't help themselves. I guess you could say Babies > Animals > Kids to people for me.
Sorry if that makes me a dick or anything but thats how I see it.
It's QQ thankyouverymuch

i don't think any cat or dog lover will ever think its funny to throw an animal in the bin...
