Where to take an 06 E350 (merc) for an oil change?

I need to get the oil changed in this thing, and the last person that quoted me was over $100 for a simple change. Anyone know of any places near Fremont (besides the dealer)

The same place you take a Subaru, it's not a amg.... It should not be that much. I take my girl friends to jiffy lube and the do a great job. $69.99

there's some differences. Cant remember exactly what. I remember we charged more at Speedee for the AMG's, and we did somethign a little bit differently.

I did them when I worked at Jiffy Lube. It's really easy. You're mostly just paying for the oil because it requires full synthetic. $69.99 iirc and they fill your tires, vacuum the car, wash the windows, etc.

Change it anywhere. But DO use the fleece OEM oil filter and extended life (European Extended Formula) Mobil 1. Both of these items allow oil changes every 10K miles, as per factory schedule.

I ask you this. If you own a car that cost $60K new, why would you cut corners? You are only protecting your investment ~ seems silly to me.

Oh, and why not go anywhere for an AMG? How does $40K for just a new engine (in a crate) sound? If you can buy the best, you should be able to afford the best service as well.

I understand what you're saying, but why pay $100 when you can get the same exact think somewhere else for $70? $30 is $30 and pays for a half a tank of gas, why not shop smart when you have the option? We don't live in the Communist Mother land, we have the option of a free market here and why not take advantage of it?

Just so you know, the last place I took it was some standard chain oil change place and I figured they were just trying to milk me for money thinking that I didn't know anything about cars, etc, which was in fact that situation because they were doing nothing but using their own brand of filters and oil, and told me they would charge me $100 even if I provided my own oil and filter (which I had).

I guess I could change it myself but it's a hassle and I've never changed it on that car so I didn't really want to deal with it, but after my last experience I figure I'll just do it myself.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I appreciate it.

PS: This is not an AMG, and it's not my car. I was simply doing a favor for one of my friends who knows nothing about cars or oil, nor does she know that you actually need to change the oil on cars! *slaps forehead* It was only because I asked her when the last time she changed the oil and she said "when I first got it, I've never changed the oil". Lucky for her it only had 9k miles on it! I panicked and told her I'd take it somewhere for her, and my result was some non english speaking grease monkey telling me it would be $100 even with my own oil and filter! I literally told him to die in a fire.

If it's only got 9k on it, might be better to have a dealership do it for warranty purposes. Just a thought....
