I, too, live in San Jose, but I had my first oil change done at MPJ Performance in Fremont. I had it done at 3,750 miles. I'm due for my 7,500 service and plan to go back there real soon.

I had a horrible financing experience at Stevens Creek Subaru, so I vowed not to go there for service.

This is something you need to do yourself. Its very simple and thats the only way you KNOW that it is done correctly.

Please do not go to Jiffy Lube. You can pay me $40 and I will do it for you, Im running low on cash, I'll use the correct grade oil, I wont overfill your oil and strip your drain plug

Don't go to Steven's Creek for anything.

Have Gino at GB Motorsports do it for ya.

I don't usually change my own oil because I dislike having to dispose of the used oil.

best place??? in your drive way. oil changes are pretty much DIY.

btw, steven's creek gets 99% bad reviews on the boards.

Most garbage companies take away the used oil. All I have to do is keep a few empty gallon jugs (must have a screw on top) and use those every time I do an oil change.

He may live in an apartment or something where he can't change his own oil. I'd take it to any performance shop that deals with Subarus.

Gruppe-S, Speed Element, AutoHQ etc. are all in your area.

Go to AutoHQ in Redwood City. Great guys there and the owner was a chief tech at Carlson Subaru.

True, although when I lived in my apartment, I would just go to a friend or family members driveway to do it. If I do it myself, it justifies paying through the nose for Redline oil :P
