just got back from a weekend in tahoe, hoping to do some early boarding for my buddy's bday... but no snow at all. there was no snow anywhere. resorts were open but it wasn't worth it to go for what little they had. ended up drinking and going to reno. it was a sad weekend for boarding.

 

if it snows tonight ill post pictures.

 

man i was hoping to go snowboarding a few times before im off to the AF, but guess thats not gonna happen

 

thats cause LIC OWNS. Ill be up in that area some this winter. Where should I go boarding? Is it worth it to go to whistler? I've never been able to make it.............but I feel like wa may have some fresher snow than whistler?, what u think?

It snowed 10" or so in the Utah mountains by SLC three days ago. And as for Canada having all the snow...NOT. Whistler has only 43" of snow...I'm leaving for there in 6 days....I hope it dumps....
And c'mon South Lake....Kirkwood only has chair 5 open, I believe...super lame!

 

2 years or so ago i left utah in time to miss the snow.. I wanted to stay there for it but moved to cali and didnt want to drive the uhaul through it lol.. my sis sent me the pics of what i missed and it was so beautiful!!!

 

They got 17" more in the last 24 hours, probably the best base depth in NA right now....

 

Last year, I only rode on pow days. I think I only logged like 7 days, but every one of those was 10" or more of overnight fresh. This kind of **** makes me glad I didn't throw down for a season pass. The one year we got passes recently, it snowed a crapload, as in open on Halloween weekend crapload. The two seasons since...nada... Buying a season pass in August to get a better deal is as good as gambling

We saw a few flakes at Thunderhill over the weekend around say 4-5am on Sunday. Only a brief second tho and only on the back near turns 9 and 10 for some reason.
