hey guys, i am looking to pickup a free vw bus, and i am thinking about putting a 2.5rs motor in it so it has the power to go around the beach no problem.
(it would be my surf-mobile haha)

anyways im wondering where i can pick up a 2.5rs motor that i could throw in there.

wiggles im not on the samba, but i probably should be. its not a 21 window although i wish to god it was...

this is it.. nothing pretty but with some sanding, and flat black paint, tinted windows and black wheels it could be a pretty fun ride


i want to put a car PC in it, and mount a cheap 19" LCD screen in the back for watching videos n what not..

 

oh man...i hope you know i have a soft spot for vws, including aircooleds. one day, i'll have a 50's oval window beetle....one day

no, the vehicle its going into has to be ODBII.. i already talked to them about doing a swap for me with a 2.5rs motor and a late 80's subaru wagon.

the bus is a 75

 

Got a suggestion...my buddy at work used to have a VW bus and he tore out the carpet and the back seats and put astro turf down on the floor. For seats he just threw a couple lawn chairs back there.

Taking on this level of project with your limited-to-nil mechanical experience and even more limited funds just because your getting the beater van for free is a horrible idea Greg.

And you're the king of horrible ideas so thats really saying alot.

no i didn't realize what was in order for this. from what i had heard the 2.5rs motor could do a smooth swap in one of the 70's buses/bugs.
