Dealership.

Altho you could just go to any muffler shop and have em weld on a CA legal cat, that'll cost you around $500 tho.

Is that $500 for an OBDII CARB cat?

I paid $150 for an OBDI CARB cat for a 1994 Saturn. The price included installation. YMMV.

lmao. Or I could always find a "specialist" (if they still do exist) to pass smog. Not looking forward to spending $500..... on a cat for a DD.

It is illegal for any place to sell/install a cat that is not labeled to be for your specific vehicle.

I failed smog even though I passed the actual test (super clean) just because the EO and CARB #s on the cat shown it was for another vehicle. Everything HAS to match up to your vehicle.

Also in regards to the recommendation on ebay, it will be tough, a lot of sellers also stop selling to an address in CA, you will see it if you browse that they will not ship to CA.

Very strict now.

This sucks because there were plenty of cheaper options that would work just as well and pass, but guess everybody got scared of the fines.

Yep no reputable stores are willing to ship to CA address. I did however find some online stores via google that will ship to CA address but they are pricing the front cat for $350 plus shipping and rear cat $170 + shipping.

I'm going to check with a local exhaust shop to see other options.... hopefully they can recommend me alternatives.

screw you HC (PPM) standards!!!
