+1 for satellite. That's why I got it. Sucky local radio stations.
If you have a computer at work, just listen to some online radio stations or music services. Or if you are an XM satellite subscriber, you can listen online on their site.

Is this a joke or is 1049 really no longer? Their site is still up and nothing has changed. They are even listing the mexican songs as the last 10 played.

I don't ****ing get it. Whats happening? Are mexicans really invading/taking over enough to take 2 good radio stations from us? First 923 now this.

stream 94.9 from san diego. its a way better station that 1049 or live105. lotsa 'classic' alternative and new cuts that people sorta care about. no morning or night talk shows. just music 24-7. i havent seen this kind of model anywhere else in terrestrial radio.

www.fm949sandiego.com

theres also a station from seattle with a similar model.

anyone take a gander at that free fm 106.9 or whatever? looks interesting.

Up here 104.9 is a horrible Country station. I think country music is far worse than mexican station. I only listen to NPR anyways.

I wish this was a joke. Yesterday morning they played the usual stuff, but then all of a sudden something called "La Romantica sample/demo" (or something like that... I forgot what exactly was listed on their website) came on. This "song" repeated the same crappy Mexican love song samples over and over again, for at least 20 minutes.

What sucks even more for me is 1049 is one of the few stations that actually plays my band's songs.
