I'll do tattoos for free with a BIC pen..
or if you want bigger lines, a fat marker could be requested..

Basically the shop was not at fault. They didn't do anything dirty or have any bad practices. The kid had a condition. When asked he did not inform the shop. He sadly paid the price of a poor judgment call on his part. Sucks.

Let me re-phrase myself. My tattoo means a lot to me but the artist was a buddy of mine (ex-tattoo artist) and it's 95% what i wanted and wasn't done in a parlor. Occasionally i regret it but it's a part of me now and it holds a lot of meaning to me.
Anyway, my point is be 110% sure of what you want. Goto a tattoo artist and have them draw you a design if you can't be creative. Look at his portfolio etc etc etc. don't jump the gun with a novice artist. be sure your **** is straight mentally and physically before you get it.
If you're 110% sure, have a design you want, have a good artist then you'll be okay.

Another vote for Everlasting Tattoo in San Francisco. Everyone that works there is an amazing artist. George Campise is my man but I would also highly recommend Mike Davis and Giant.
My best suggestion is take your time and select a tattooist like you would research a new car. Check as many portfolios as you can before you delve into ink.
