Wheel bearing costs?

ok.. i guess its my turn again to seek desperately for help...

any idea on the costs of wheel bearing replacements? i've been told by some that my wheel bearings have gone bad.. at this time i can't figure out which one is causing the sound/issue. but anyone give me a ballpark on costs (parts+labor) for that kind of job?

05 legacy non-turbo.

TIA!

Mine went out around 240k miles. It began as a small hum around one of the axles and became progressively louder especially evident inside the cabin. Cost me couple hundred bucks but I had some other work done also.

Idk, but I will recommend rbms for the work to be done. I have used them for all sorts of stuff on my subie, and now my wife's honda. Prices are great, work is top notch, and the guys there are really nice!

Just replaced my front right and it cost about 200 for the bearing, seals and hub. Did it myself so I don't have to worry about labor.

If I didn't have to go to the dealer to get a new hub, it would have only taken like 2 hours max. I took my time though..

Takes about 20 minutes to strip the suspension down to the hub assembly and about 30 minutes to press everything out. Reassembly is probably another 30 minutes max just to make sure you have the bearings pressed in all square.

Honestly if you have ever changed out brake rotors and brake pads, you are more than capable to do a hub swap

The only 2 things that might feel overwhelming is breaking loose the axle nuts and maybe re-assembling the rear parking brake

honestly thats the part thats actually worrying me.. esp at the car's age... i can only imagine it being a complete pita getting access to the bolts on the far side of the hub.i'm a bit worried of taking stuff out and not being able to get it back in place.

Well you can order the parts and bring it to the shop your are having it installed or you can order the parts through them (order extra axle nuts because they are usually one time use only and punched). Most likely shops will not stock this item but will get it next day etc.

If I were to guess I'd say its an hour worth of labor each corner. If anyone has access to alldata they can figure out what exactly what the job hours are.
