so after punishing whatever small funds i had before december.. my new years resolution this year is to get out of debt.... haha, it's gonna have to be a miraculous year, because if you count my school loans plus everything else.. im quite over $30k...
My New Years resolution was to not make any New Years resolutions. But, I did stop and reflect on the year past and I will be a little more patient with people that **** me off, be better with my money (wanted to end the year debt free, but missed it by $900 - oh well), get my car sorted (still missing a few pieces and making odd noises), be more patient in traffic, be more organised, get married (07.07.07) and then get out of debt again. We'll see where we are at towards the end...
I would never say I am gonna quit smoking on NY because it's important enough to quit when you realise it's a problem. For the last 3 year I haven't smoked more than 1-3 cigs a day, and I sometimes go a few weeks without smoking. To me, this is better than quitting cold turkey and having the crazy cravings. One thing that helped me a lot to simply break the habit was to buy a pack for my friend, and just hit him up when I want a smoke. Might sound strange, but it works soooo well for me. My problem is when I have a pack and then have a bad day at work or something then I smoke a couple (maybe 3 max throughout the day). Then, I want to smoke another simply because I started the habit again.
